Oslo's Peace Prize Ceremony

On December 10, three remarkable women will be honored in a solemn ceremony at Oslo City Hall in Norway. Winners of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2011 are:
  • Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
  • Liberian peacemaker Leymah Gbowee, and
  • Yemeni anti-government protester Tawakkul Karman
The world became aware of the bravery of these women through several documentary films. Exhibits at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo will honor their lives and works.
