The Old Colony Building in Chicago

September 11, the anniversary of the destruction of the World Trade Center towers in New York, is also the birthday of skyscraper pioneer William Holabird. Along with his partner Martin Roche, William Holabird forged America's early skyscrapers and launched an architectural style known as the Chicago School.
